On the south coast of Sri Lanka, famed for its beaches, the new Cape Weligama resides atop a 118-foot Indian Ocean bluff with access to bordering beach strips on either side.
Opened in October by the tourism arm of the locally based Dilmah Tea company, the Relais & Chateaux property features 40 suites, each with its own spa facilities including steam showers, deep soaking tubs and massage tables for in-room treatments. An on-site dive center offers wreck dives and scuba certification training as well as wildlife cruises to spot blue whales and dolphins.
