Location

Located on Meguro Dori, a street renowned for its second-hand furniture stores, it is a little off the beaten track in terms of public transport but ideally located for those keen to explore local life. A plus: the hotel has a stylish custom-made fleet of Tokyo Bikes for guests to use (the hip Nakameguro district is a short ride away).

Style & character

This is Tokyo’s original design hotel – and arguably still the best. It’s unashamedly design-orientated: as well as 20 modern, Japanese-influenced bedrooms (including a handful of uniquely designed rooms by artists and creatives), there are several floors devoted entirely to creativity, with galleries, artists’ studios and event spaces as well as its own great design shop, DO, and a decked rooftop terrace.

The Japanese style furniture of CLASKA is original, and will give visitors a sense of being invited to a friend’s home. The carefully selected antiques and interior from various parts of Asia, help to create a relaxed and casing mood, but also innovative and fresh.

Service & facilities

Fashionable but approachable (although not everyone may speak English). Good service is not confined to humans: Claska is also home to the city’s fashionable dog-grooming salon, DogMan.

Nirvana for Japanese-design lovers – from the zen modern spaces with tatami flooring and minimalist pebble-like cushions to the DIY rooms custom-designed by individual Japanese designers such as Kayo Sato. Weekly rental is also available for long-term stays.

The Tatami Room takes on a new style, which is both east and west, a combination of simple tatami mats and a bed. In other words, it is the contemporary Japanese room. Not only will it comfort guests from long travels, but will also give them a sight of Japanese values and philosophy.

Food & drink

Contemporary Japanese and European food is served in Kioku, the ground-floor restaurant, with a focus on brown rice and seasonal, organic vegetables. It can either be very quiet or heaving, depending on whether there is an event or exhibition opening: check ahead.

With the season’s best savor and ingredients, we offer a light and beautiful French-based meal, from breakfast to dinner. Enjoy the contemporary and exciting cuisine by our Chef Hidemitsu Yuzawa. CLASKA Restaurant “kiokuh” on the 1st floor of CLASKA, will be serving the summer dinner course “Shirohae” starting July 1st(Sat).

“Shirohae” is the south wind that blows away the rainy season, welcoming the bright summer sky. Inspired by this wind, the ever so unique 7 plates are filled with a cool, free feeling. Experience the eloquent and refreshing combination of the season’s best savor.
