Itinerary
Introduction
Day 1: Transfer Beijing to Great Wall
From Beijing we will journey by road to Jinshanling to hike this section of the Great Wall. We cross over into the West Simatai Great Wall (the eastern end has been closed due to maintenance). Originally built during the Northern Qi Dynasty (550 – 577) it was rebuilt during the Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644), and as such is one of the few remaining sections of the Great Wall that retains features and the architectural style of the Ming Dynasty period. After lunch we will spend the rest of the day walking along the Wall which is characterised by numerous watchtowers that are constructed along its length. Return via a mountain valley to the village of Jinshanling and discover the quaint rural lifestyle of local farmers as you relax and mingle with the farmers over an authentic, home-cooked Chinese meal including dumplings. Overnight: Basic accommodation at a farmer’s guesthouse.

Day 2: To Gubeikou and return Jinshanling
Day 3: Return to Beijing, trip concludes
Breakfast will be at Jinshanling before we are transported by private vehicle back to Beijing. The trip concludes on arrival in Beijing city; if you require accommodation or an airport transfer please contact your travel consultant for booking details.
