Best Resorts in Tahiti Offering Overwater Bungalows

Here are top 8 overwater bungalows in tahiti:

1. Le Tikehau by Pearl Resorts

Le Tikehau by Pearl Resorts is the ideal place to relax and unwind. Its crystal clear lagoon, white sand beach, and beautiful overwater bungalows make it a paradise that should not be missed.

The resort offers a unique experience and unparalleled seclusion, perfect for those seeking a private getaway. The resort is on a moto, a 5-minute car ride, and a 10-minute boat ride from the Tikehau airport.

Our overwater suite had direct lagoon access and was spacious, clean, and had a fantastic view of the lagoon. The resort is quiet and peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sound of nature.

The bungalows are on stilts, so there was plenty of room for swimming around them with warm water and abundant marine life. My family also had a fantastic snorkeling experience; seeing so many colorful fish in the lagoon was breathtaking.

We even saw a few black-tip sharks swimming around! The resort offers limited food options (mostly seafood), but all of them are pretty delicious. They also provided filtered water, ice, and even a reusable water bottle during our stay. If you’re looking for a memorable experience in overwater bungalows in Tahiti, this is the place to be.

Unfortunately, their guest Wi-Fi is only available in the common area, so we had to rent a pocket Wi-Fi for our room. My family and I had a fantastic stay at Le Tikehau by Pearl Resorts.

2. Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort

The Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort is set on a stunning beach. It offers an array of overwater bungalows perfect for families or couples. The resort is well maintained, and the staff are friendly and helpful. One of the highlights of our stay was the spa massage.

The masseuses were excellent, and we felt genuinely relaxed afterward. We also took advantage of the snorkelling opportunities off the beach, which were very enjoyable. The resort offers a selection of restaurants and cafes to suit all tastes.

We particularly enjoyed breakfast buffets and made-to-order omelettes. Dinners at Pure Restaurant were okay, but the fish often seemed overcooked. The beachfront bungalows are spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom and covered porch.

The view from our bungalow was beautiful, and the bedding consisted of a heavy down comforter, which provided extra warmth during the evening.

We found the entry to the water quite rocky, so we recommend wearing water shoes. We also encountered a few billing errors during checkout, which could have been avoided if staff had paid closer attention to detail.

Sun beds on the beach were not very comfortable and needed better maintenance. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tropical beach holiday.

If you’re looking for a different type of vacation experience, you might also consider exploring options like a California adults-only resort for a change of scenery.

InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa has plenty of facilities, including two pools, two restaurants (an acceptable dining overwater option), a gym, and a day spa. Overall, I highly recommend staying at InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa.

Every activity is unique, with the resort’s attentive staff providing support and guidance throughout your stay. Overall, The Four Seasons Bora Bora is the perfect choice.

5. Vahine Private Island Resort & Spa

The Vahine Private Island Resort & Spa in French Polynesia is one of the most unique and beautiful resorts I have ever visited. Located on its private island, it offers a secluded atmosphere with breathtaking views of the South Pacific.

From the overwater bungalows to the pristine beach, this resort will bring you the feeling of paradise. The experience starts from your first step onto the island when you are welcomed with a warm smile and a traditional Polynesian greeting.

From then on, the staff does their best to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. The resort is small enough to enjoy a personal atmosphere but large enough for all the amenities needed for a luxury vacation.

The room was comfortable and well-equipped with air conditioning, a minibar, and a private balcony with breathtaking ocean views. I was also impressed with the excellent cuisine at the resort’s restaurants and bars.

The snorkeling near the island is some of the best I have seen. The coral is close to the surface, and you can easily find colorful fish of all sizes nearby. Activities like golf or simply taking a stroll in the nearby coconut groves also exist. Overall, Vahine Private Island Resort & Spa is worth every penny spent.

Now, if you’re looking for similar luxury experiences elsewhere, consider exploring St. Lucia resorts with private pools.

6. Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort & Spa

The Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort & Spa is on the island of Bora Bora, a popular destination for luxury travelers. Every aspect of the resort was top-notch, from the enthusiastic horn sounding during departure to the helpful staff to the high level of cleanliness.

The food quality, presentation, and portion sizes were impressive, too. Not only that, but the beachfront villa provided a fantastic stay with stunning views of Mount Otemanu.

The beach itself met expectations, offering a desired setting. A staff member named Mao stood out for her attentive and dedicated service. The bungalows were well-equipped, spacious, and tastefully designed.

The garden pool villa offered privacy and tranquility, while the resort area was impeccably maintained with beautiful gardens. Additionally, sunbeds were available at both the beach and pool. The delightful and helpful staff consistently contributed to a positive experience.

At the same time, the restaurants upheld the overall high standards of the resort. The choice to stay at the Pearl Resort over other luxury options in Bora Bora was rewarding.

7. Le Meridien Bora Bora

The Le Meridien Bora Bora resort is an incredible destination on a beautiful tropical island that offers one of the most fantastic vacation experiences imaginable. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff and given a tour of the resort.

The service provided to us was top-notch – everyone went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable, memorable, and stress-free. The housekeeping staff was incredibly attentive – they came twice daily to ensure our room was clean and comfortable.

We were also particularly pleased with the delicious food offered at the resort. The concierge service was very helpful in helping us plan all of our activities for the week; everything was unforgettable, from swimming with sea turtles to snorkeling to scuba diving.

But the icing on the cake was our experience with Manina Tema, an exceptional staff member at breakfast. Her professionalism and kindness made our stay extra memorable.

Overall, the Le Meridien Bora Bora resort has exceeded our expectations regarding service, amenities, and experiences. We highly recommend this resort as a destination for couples or families looking for an unforgettable tropical getaway.

Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa is a place that offers an unforgettable experience of serenity and luxury. Located on the pristine Motu Toopua Island, this resort is known for its stunning overwater bungalows with breathtaking views of Mount Otemanu and fantastic snorkelling off the back patio.

The resort offers plenty of activities, from stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and biking to a delicious Polynesian dance dinner show. Daven, the concierge, was exceptionally helpful in making arrangements and finding the best ways to enjoy our stay.

The rooms at the resort are spacious and offer luxurious amenities. We were upgraded to an overwater villa for our birthday, which was divine. It had a relaxing deck with hammocks over water and a spacious bathtub.

The Horizon view room also offered great exercise with the steep roads. The food at the resort was just as incredible as the view.

Fresh seafood and delicious poke bowls gave us plenty of options for an enjoyable culinary experience. The pineapple smoothies were a hit as well! We also had the pleasure of having spa services, which, although expensive, were worth every penny.
